“The reality is, my prayers don’t change God. But, I am convinced prayer changes me. Praying boldly boots me out of that stale place of religious habit into authentic connection with God Himself.”
A prayer a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God. It’s one of the most divine actions that we can perform. It’s the world’s greatest wireless connection. The natural to the supernatural. Prayer is not about whether or not you belong to one religion or the other because prayer is not about religion, rather it’s about allowing your spirit to connect with God. My mother has taught me this, connecting to God is not about having someone intercede for you or having a religious leader connect on your behalf, it’s about you, creating that contact point through that small word you may have read or heard at one point or another, and that plus your determination will lead to a manifestation.
If there is one thing that I will forever stand by and believe, is that prayer changes situations. Regardless of how hard and impossible, it may seem. Yes, I know you’ve heard this many times because I have heard the same thing severally, however when situations started changing drastically the moment I decided to make prayer, not something I do occasionally, rather a lifestyle, then I will continuously and tirelessly be an ambassador for prayer. Some situations in life cannot be cast out, forgotten and neither can time heal them. All they need is an active spirit and that requires you to pray over them. Think about this. What is that one thing, you have been struggling to either get in your life or get out of your life? Anything at all, maybe it’s a promotion you need, which you have been working for so much, or a personality trait, which you hate and can’t seem to get rid of, go on your knees and pray. Try God!
If you don’t know how prayer feels like, I will gladly explain. After that long hectic day at work where you’ve been thinking of nothing else but your shower and how refreshing it would be just to get under the shower head, to take a nice warm shower, or even soaking in your bathtub, relaxing and having no worry in the world then finally getting to it and feeling so lovely afterwards, that’s what prayer does to you. Prayer is just like that lovely shower/bath, which you think of all day, just waiting to get to. Once you are done praying, you feel refreshed and you feel at the top of the world. When prayer becomes a habit, and a lifestyle, you suddenly can’t wait to have your time to talk to God, because that’s where you get to run away from your worries, you feel at peace, you feel comfortable and you feel relieved.
I would encourage us all to create time for that one on one with God. Some of us think of God as an authoritative figure, however, remember that He is your Father and your friend. Speak to Him as such, just as you feel free speaking to your best friend. You will experience a transformation which you never would have imagined, regardless of what it is you are going through and in whichever aspect. Try Him!
When prayers go up, blessings come down. Pray until something happens!
